The Iron Method

Heat, hammer, test, temper

Raw iron becomes steel through a process. Businesses get stronger the same way.

The Iron Method is our five-step process: Scout, Blueprint, Forge, Stress Test, Temper. Every full engagement runs these five steps, and our three plays are delivered inside them. It’s how we work: hands-on, not from a distance.

The Five Steps

From an honest look to systems that hold

01

Scout

We interview every owner and manager, hold quick conversations of about 15 minutes with some employees, and review the numbers and workflows.

What you receive

An honest outside view.

Examples of what we may ask of you

  • Interview time from your leaders
  • Financial data, such as a P&L and other reports, shared on request. There is no fixed document list.
02

Blueprint

We write up a diagnostic and an action plan, and agree with you on 2 to 4 success metrics.

What you receive

A clear plan and a scoreboard.

Examples of what we may ask of you

  • A plan review meeting, usually about an hour, sometimes closer to two
03

Forge

The hands-on work: coaching, workshops, SOPs, tech modernization, and accountability rhythms.

What you receive

Real change, built alongside you.

Examples of what we may ask of you

  • Roughly 2 to 4 hours a week of the owner’s time
04

Stress Test

We measure results against the agreed metrics and adjust what isn’t working.

What you receive

Proof, not promises.

Examples of what we may ask of you

  • Roughly 2 to 4 hours a week of the owner’s time, including tracking results
05

Temper

We build a hand-off plan and an owner playbook, and decide together on any ongoing support.

What you receive

Systems that hold without us.

Examples of what we may ask of you

  • A final plan meeting, usually about an hour, sometimes closer to two, in person when possible

Every engagement is different. What we ask of you depends on your business and the scope we agree on together.

How the Work Runs

Built around your business

  • Flexible length

From a 2-week sprint to 6+ months, or an ongoing retainer.

  • Weekly check-ins

Frequent early on, tapering as your new systems take hold.

  • A halftime review

At a point we agree on together, we sit down: what’s working, what’s not, and what we adjust.

  • Virtual and in person

Most calls and working sessions happen over video. For key meetings with confirmed clients, we come to you.

The Scoreboard

We measure wins, not activity

Before we start, we agree on 2 to 4 measurable targets together. You track results day to day in your own business, and we review them with you at the halftime review.

The Code

Five rules we play by

  1. 01

    Straight talk

We tell you the truth, with respect for the person hearing it.

  2. 02

    Earned, not claimed

Every credential can be checked. Every result we share is real.

  3. 03

    Hands in the work

We implement, coach, and follow up. No binders and goodbyes.

  4. 04

    Modern tools, old-school work ethic

Smart systems level the field; showing up early earns the right to use them.

  5. 05

    Play the long game

We want partners for years. If we can’t help, we’ll say so.
